The initial failure of the promising DAB system has left an uncertain situation in the future of the digital radio in our country. The saturation of the FM radio spectre in Catalonia forces the industry to find alternatives in order to fit new projects and new stations. New audiences demand the technological modernization of a medium that is very often accused as beign archaic.
In this context, the Observatori de la Ràdio a Catalunya invited last 29 April 2009, in an act focused to directors and technical managers of the catalan and spanish radio stations and organizations, Mr. MAthias Coinchon and Mrs. Elena Puigrefagut, Senior Engineers in the Technical Department of EBU, in order to know how the digital radio is being implanted in Europe and which are the best access ways for Catalonia.
